LIHI's Supportive Services Department is a program which helps homeless, formerly homeless and low-income residents living in LIHI housing. Supportive Services provides residents with the skills and confidence they need to find jobs, sustain their independence and to make lasting changes in their lives.
The services we provide include:
Intensive case management for residents needing social service support, resources and advocacy to make the transition out of homelessness.Resource coordination which helps families and individuals living in permanent housing to overcome short-term challenges that may threaten their housing stability.
Life skills workshops for homeless, formerly homeless and/or low income families and individuals.
Youth programs to several of our housing sites, including after school tutoring, a summer activity day program, children’s art and poetry classes, anti-bullying/conflict resolution workshops, and a youth leadership program.
Financial literacy and asset building workshops, in which families are encouraged to save money and participate in financial education programs.
Technology based education. Offering computer training classes to our residents, by bringing skilled computer and technology instructors directly into LIHI housing sites, we introduce our residents to technology in small and comfortable environments.
